The penthouse of this new building in Berlin Mitte offers a wonderful panorama of the city center to the south. In order to zone the apartment more clearly, platforms were installed. At the same time, these elevated areas allow a visual connection to the outside even when sitting. The view to the outside is filtered through translucent fabric panels. The fabric panels have cutouts that hide the restless roof scape and draw the focus onto the outstanding buildings of the skyline creating a new horizon. The solid Douglas fir floorboards produced by the Danish company „Dinesen“, up to nine meters long, characterize the rooms, which are otherwise designed almost exclusively with white materials. So the focus is clearly on the very colorful art. The marble block inserted into the floor plan transforms the previously small and dark bathroom into a spacious, light-flooded room. Now you shower with a stone wall of „Carrara“ marble in your back looking at the Berlin sky.
